Well Hello There!

Things that have happened since we (I) last posted:

1) We paid to watch people fight. I mean, they called it Ice Hockey, but whatever. It was a lot of fun. I think that everyone should watch at least one live hockey game in their life. It brings out something primitive in you. Richmond has a small traveling team. We took a friend from India and one form South Korea. I don't believe either of them were impressed. They were more likely terrified of my unintelligble screaming.

2) VCU won the our conference championship! Now off to the Big Dance. We got to go the game and it was very exciting. Many people rushed the floor, but Robert and I opted out of that madness. A sure sign that we officially "old" now. How do you like Robert's mullet? Nice, huh?

3) I got a myspace account. www.myspace.com/starryrachel

4) A paper that I wrote was accepted to a conference so we are off to Philadelphia for a long weekend this week (Wednesday-Sunday). It should be fun. I'm a bit nervous about the presentation though, but I figure it's just 20 minutes--I can suck it up.

5) We have decided to go to Africa for a short-term mission trip this summer!!! We are so excited! We'll be in Niger, West Africa for 2 weeks in July. We're currently trying to raise the funds that we need to go, as well as let churches know so that they can be praying for us. Here's the organization we're going with: www.linkniger.com (I wonder if this will work?).

Things that have not happened:

1) Robert has not spent any of his $50.00 Barnes and Noble giftcard from Christmas, which is killing me. I can think of a billion things I want from there, and he can't come up with one good one.

2) We have not figured out how to keep our apartment at the minimum level of cleanliness/organization necessary for sanity. If anyone wants to come over, we seriously need like a year's notice. For real, book the couch and futon now, and they might be uncovered when you get here--but no promises. (And please no one suggest FlyLady or I'll lose it--I'm that close.)
